For Individuals Who Want to Feel More Peaceful in Their Lives (in Just Two Weeks)
A comfortable, convenient office space in Kenwood, the heart of Cincinnati
Maybe you've heard the letters "EMDR" thrown around when friends talk about their own therapy experience, or in google searches, but are unsure what it even is. EMDR stands for Eye Movement and desensitization reprocessing...it's a mouthful! EMDR is an evidence-based therapeutic modality that is highly effective at treating traumatic or stressful experiences, anxiety, substance use, and depression. it's different from traditional talk therapy in that it's a "bottom-up" approach, meaning it treats the way your body and neural system have been impacted by your experiences. a qualified emdr clinician will work collaboratively with you to determine if it is a good fit for you, and walk you through the process.
•You are currently experiencing auditory or visual hallucinations
• You are currently using substances daily and would not be able to be medically safe if you did not use for three days.
• You have other concerns (like an eating disorder) that is currently not medically-managed, and you need immediate medical treatment.
• You are not located in Ohio or willing to travel to Ohio for your EMDR intensive experience.
An intensive (with me) may not be right for you if...
• You have experienced a traumatic event that has impacted your ability to feel safe and fulfilled.
• You are in a stage of life where you need a change in symptoms or clarity quickly, such as pregnancy, caring for young children or older parents, making a decision regarding a life change (such as divorce or career change), or on disability leave from work and need to return.
• The idea of carving out time for weekly therapy sessions seems overwhelming or unfeasible in your life.
• You are a woman who frequently feels held back by being a "people pleaser" or having high standards for yourself.
• You have a complicated or negative relationship with your parents and/or extended family, and you want to process and explore the ways your childhood has impacted you today.
An intensive may be right for you if...
In our consultation call, we will chat about what is going on in your life and what you hope to gain from Your EMDR intensive experience. Our goal is to determine together what the next best steps for you are. Are we a good fit? If not, I'd love to help you connect with someone who is.
Unsure if an EMDR intensive experience will fits your needs?
I specialize in seeing women experiencing a variety of life transitions and identity shifts. From perinatal challenges to the ways parenting can trigger our own unresolved issues from childhood. I am a Perinatal Mental Health Certified clinician, who has received ample training and has experience with individuals of diverse backgrounds, ages, and needs. Many of my clients struggle in their current stages of life due to childhood experiences, which we can process (depending on your goals) in an EMDR intensive.
I am located in Cincinnati and am a LISW-S in the state of Ohio. My office for in-person sessions is located in Kenwood, Ohio. As I offer an intensive experience, many clients may choose to travel to Cincinnati to stay locally and make their experience more retreat-like.
EMDR intensives are priced at $5,000 for three days of intensive therapy, an assessment prior to the intensive, and a client workbook that will guide our treatment. I offer six-month interest-free financing through Care Credit for this investment.
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio, with over ten years experience. My license number is I. 1700736-SUPV; in addition to being an LISW-S in Ohio, I also hold my Perinatal Mental Health Certification from Postpartum Support International, and I am EMDR trained, which involves extensive training and consultation.
An intensive is comprised of a 90 minute virtual assessment with me about two to three weeks prior to your session dates where we g review your history, a workbook completed at your own pace where you develop your goals for treatment, and three full-day (five hours per day) therapeutic days with me, where we focus on improving your mental health symptoms.
As a mental health clinician, I am qualified to diagnose my clients, but diagnosis is not my primary objective in our work together.
I understand that diagnoses can provide a great deal of comfort and acceptance to some, and provide stigma and shame to others. Some clients also do not want a diagnosis as part of their medical records for employment or licensing reasons.
I am always willing to have these conversations with clients, to determine what is best for you.
EMDR intensives are not typically covered by insurance, and are not reimbursed through out-of-network benefits.
You can seek other forms of coverage for this treatment, such as Victims' Compensation if you have survived a violent crime.
Additionally, I do offer six month's interest-free financing, so you have the option of paying over time for this treatment.
I am licensed within the state of Ohio, and all clients must be located within the state of Ohio at the time of their telehealth session. If you are located in the tristate area and would like to come to my office for in-person sessions, that is an option that is available to you.
